Gail Harris is 68 years old, and one of her dreams is to be able to dance at her grandson’s wedding. Young Grady is not quite 6, so she has a few years to wait. But suddenly, the dream is facing an unimaginable threat.
With symptoms that were thought to be an annoying case of bronchitis, doctors discovered a large tumor in Gail’s lung. Several days later, tests revealed the tumor was in fact stage 4 lung cancer that had metastasized to the lymph nodes, and to her brain.
In her younger years, Gail was a smoker. But for more than 30 years now, she has fully committed to living her life for the glory of her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. She and her husband Rich Harris are the Senior Ministers at The Centre, Living Word Ministries International in Wheat Ridge, Colorado. Part of their ministry includes the Golden Eagle School of Practical Ministries which has equipped 100’s of Christians to go out into all the world using their gifts and talents to expand the Kingdom of God.
Gail has a gift of seeing the call of God on someone and giving them wings to fly into that destiny. One in particular is her spiritual son, John Roth. She saw the gift of worship on him and through her encouragement he is now the Lead Worshipper at The Centre and is soaring in His prophetic worship gift. Gail is a proud Mom and one of his biggest fans, waiting for him to release his first CD! There are many others that need Gail’s talents and gift to help them soar into their destinies.
As part of their Christian walk, they have always believed in being good stewards of the bodies God has given them here on earth. They strive to eat a healthy, organic diet.
When seeking God’s guidance in choosing a course of cancer treatment, they have been led to look into some alternative clinics such as; the Century Wellness Clinic in Reno, specializing in a combination of natural and homeopathic remedies as well as less toxic chemotherapies and Nature Med in Boulder, Colorado who specialize in treatment that helps counteract the effects of chemo. Both clinics are headed by an MD/Oncologist and Naturopathic doctors.
It is Gail’s desire to pave the way for others to find alternative healing remedies, but use wisdom with some of the latest, perhaps God given, medical technology finding doctors who are willing for God to lead them. It is equally her desire to give God the glory for His work in her life. She and Rich have many prophetic words waiting to be fulfilled and a long life of ministry and time with family ahead of them.
Because of the nature of the cancer and time being of the essence, Gail is currently undergoing radiation on a daily basis and low dose Chemo treatment weekly for the next 8 weeks. She is also supplementing the medical with the Alternative by being committed to the Hallelujah Diet – a heavy juicing and raw vegan plan. Coupled with one of the above Naturopathic clinics – and MUCH prayer from so many wonderful friends, both Rich and Gail feel this is how the Lord has led them.
Alternative clinics cost thousands of dollars, radiation and other medical procedures also have their costs not covered by insurance. We, Gail’s kids, are asking that you pray about donating to Gail’s wedding dance.
